Since I’m using Todoist as my main todo app, it improved my productivity and helped me to reduce my stress levels.
You might think, how can a todo app reduce your stress levels?
I know that seeing an enormous list of tasks is not really relieving any stress, but it helps to categorise your tasks. If you use Todoist, you will be able to define projects and create tasks for every project. Every task can be scheduled for a certain date or time. You can add comments to every task to specify details. Within every projects, there is the concept of sections. This helps you divide tasks in certain categories. …
Two and a half years ago I started working my first full-time job as a software developer. I had a bachelors degree in Application Development and some
experience in creating websites for small companies as a side hustle during my time as a student.
Before starting my internship at my current company Craftworkz, I had no experience building real applications. But I wanted to be able to create applications. Not just one part of an application, but an actual frontend, with an API and a pipeline that took care of the deployment. …
As we all know security is an important part of the internet. The amount of websites created are increasing every day. According to internetlivestats, there are over 1.8 billion websites online with less than 200 million active ones. These websites are not always secure. If you take a look at the statistics from Mozilla Observatory about 15% of the scanned sites pass the security score. In their case, passing means receiving a score of 50/100 and above.
If you apply that number to the total of about 200 million websites, you get about 30 million secure websites. In other words, only one in seven websites is secure. But secure is an unclear term, which is pretty difficult to use. Is a website secure when it passes a security review by a cybersecurity company? Or is a simple security scan enough? …
Choosing the right platform to build on is hard.
Choosing a platform for mobile is even harder.
At Craftworkz, we try to find the right tool for the right job. Therefore, we attend webinars and investigate the newest technologies. Our developers have the option to pick one day a month to investigate a framework or a new tool. During this day, they come up with a prototype, or even a blogpost.

I hear you thinking… What is a second brain? Well the answer is very simple. It’s a brain on top of your current brain. But not a normal brain. A brain that remembers everything… Some of you might already know what I mean. I mean a personal database.
All data that you acquire could be important for many reasons. For me storing this data in Notion, which is the app that I use as my second brain, has been a game changer.
One of my colleagues recently asked me how I find the motivation to do what I do. “What I do” is a little vague, so let me elaborate on that. I’m a full time developer (40 hours/week), a freelancer on the side for various companies (15-20 hours/week) and I write at least 1 blog a week (varies in time). I work out about 5 times a week (at least 5 hours) and I also have an amazing girlfriend. Since recently, I also started to finish 1 audiobook a week. …
I find that Readable code is maintainable code.
The goal for me as a developer is to write quality code. Every developer on the team, despite his/her skill level, has to be able understand the code by reading it. This helps young developers to be more confident in writing code.
In my day job I sometimes have to prepare presentations for workshops or tech-talks for companies.
What a terrible thing to do… Creating slides…
I used to think that:
And one big question always remained.
Does the overal style piece together nicely?
Well Beautiful.ai solved all those issues for me.
Using Beautiful.ai is so easy to use.
Try it out, and let me know what you guys think!
Which tools do you guys use to create beautiful presentations?

I know what you think… Another frontend framework… Why another one, React is already amazing?!
Well that’s what I also thought, until I saw how easy this framework actually is.
At my current workplace, Craftworkz, we create prototypes for customers.
An average project takes about 4 to 6 weeks and they are mostly created by 1 or 2 developers, depending on the complexity. Our go-to frontend framework is mostly React.
Adding an extra feature to these prototypes requires some base knowledge of React, and this might sound easy for a React developer, but what if you don’t know what a
useState hook is? …
Of course everyone has. Most of the time, when we are trying out a new framework or language, one of the key things is data.
Fauna is a data api which creates a global datastore for your application in a couple of minutes. The database has GraphQL support. …
